BrandMozart has created a comprehensive sound library to personalize the on-board experience on the Mercedes EQS electric flagship.
THE BRIEF
Holistic sound design allows the new EQS flagship to perceive the paradigm shift from internal combustion engine to electric car acoustically as well. Different sound scenarios allow for a customized acoustic set-up in conjunction with the Burmester Surround Sound System that the driver can select from the display or the dedicated app. Two sound presets offer different listening pleasure: those who prefer authentically reproduced music select the "Pure" style, free of effects. The special feature of the "3D-Sound" mode, on the other hand, is virtual surround sound. Through two 3D speakers in the rooftop control cluster and an algorithm used by the digital acoustic processor in the amplifier, authentic surround sound is generated in multi-channel format.
SOLUTION
BrandMozart has created a series of libraries with various sound experiences that can be selected and customized from the central display. As soon as the driver and other occupants approach the car and get on board they are greeted by a sound signal. Likewise they are greeted when they get out and lock the car. Within the specific sound scenario also moves the available driving sound, always played through the Sound System speakers. All these sound scenarios can be customized by the driver to create endless musical atmospheres to his or her liking.

Through a unified sound design BrandMozart made the paradigm shift from the internal combustion engine car to the electric car acoustically perceived. From custom sound to represent acceleration and speed to soundscapes to recreate relaxing on-board atmospheres evocative of various types of environments.
